Wesley D. Millican

 

Wesley D. Millican, MBA, is the Founder and President of MillicanSolutions, Inc., the Nation’s only executive search and consulting firm focused exclusively on strategic leadership initiatives for children’s hospitals.  He is also Founder and CEO of CareerPhysician Advisors L.P., one of the Nation’s leading providers of comprehensive career and business education resources to residents, fellows, and training program directors.

Formerly, Millican served as Principal at Ray & Berndtson; Vice President of Physician Services at Physician Reliance Network, now U.S. Oncology; Director of Physician Recruitment, Retention and Cultural Development at Baylor Health Care System of Dallas; and Vice President and Marketing Director at the Horizon Group, a health-care recruitment and consulting firm.

Recognized as an authority on physician leadership development in pediatrics, Millican devotes significant time to strategic planning, physician conflict resolution, and leading complex academic search initiatives for children’s organizations nationally. 

Continuing his commitment to the “future of medicine”, Millican speaks regularly at the Nation’s top residency and fellowship programs on career and business of medicine topics.  His Launch Your Career Series is quickly becoming the gold standard career resource for today’s residents and fellows and serves as a quality resource for the RRC and ACGME Professionalism Competency needs of today’s teaching programs. 

Millican holds an MBA degree from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University and received BBA degrees in both Marketing and Management from Texas A&M University.  He has been the recipient of the National Institute for Physician Recruitment’s National Honors for Comprehensive Campaign Plans and Strategies and ACMS’s Physician Relations Executive of the Year award.  Recognized as a recruiting industry expert, Millican has been published in the Wall Street Journal and was a contributor to Get Paid What You’re Worth, a book by Robin L. Pinkley, focusing on compensation and salary negotiations.

Millican serves on the Executive Committee of the Center for New Ventures and Entrepreneurship, a subsidiary of the Mays Business School at Texas A&M University, the Executive Board of the Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University, and the Board of the Institute for Congregational & Clergy Effectiveness, a subsidiary of the Texas Methodist Foundation.

 

Jennifer L. Schaulin


Jennifer L. Schaulin serves as Vice President with MillicanSolutions, Inc., an executive search and consulting firm focused on strategic leadership initiatives for children’s hospitals nationally. Jennifer is responsible for managing the search execution process. She has spent over 11 years in retained executive search and was formerly a Director with A.T. Kearney Executive Search and a Principal with Ray & Berndtson in the consumer products and services practices located in Fort Worth, Texas. She has been responsible for executing search assignments for senior level executives across a broad range of functions in consumer products, medical products and technology companies.

Prior to her executive search experience, Jennifer had an eight year career in medical capital equipment sales in both the radiology and cardiology market places. She spent three years as an advanced diagnostic sales specialist for intravascular ultrasound in the West Region for Cordis Corporation, a Johnson & Johnson Company and five years as an account manager for GE Medical Systems in the Pacific Northwest. In addition to her sales success, Jennifer served as the sales and service team facilitator and was involved in corporate training, customer training and mentoring of peers. Jennifer earned a B.S. in general engineering with a secondary field of study in marketing from the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign.

Marcel Barbey


Marcel Barbey, serves as Vice President with MillicanSolutions, Inc., an executive search and consulting firm focused on strategic leadership initiatives for children’s hospitals nationally. Marcel is responsible for managing the search execution process.  Prior to joining MillicanSolutions, he was a Principal with The Medicus Firm, based in Dallas, and primarily worked with clients in the Northeast.  Prior to joining Medicus in 2005, he was with Merritt Hawkins & Associates where he trained and directed a team of search consultants that completed searches throughout the Midwest region. Marcel has been recruiting physicians and providing healthcare staffing consultative services since 1999. His areas of expertise include medical staff needs analysis, contract negotiation, establishing strong partnerships with physician candidates and clients and an unparalleled customer centric focus. 

Prior to starting his career in healthcare consulting and recruiting, Marcel worked in the hospitality and hotel management field.  Marcel earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Alberta, Edmonton.  

Jennifer Weimer


Jennifer Weimer serves as Assistant Vice President and Executive Assistant with MillicanSolutions, Inc., an executive search and consulting firm focused on strategic leadership initiatives for children’s hospitals nationally. She is responsible for target identification, strategic market research, database development, client relations, search execution and meeting coordination.

She has spent over nine years in retained executive search and was formerly a Research Analyst for the healthcare practice at Ray & Berndtson, a retained executive search firm located in Fort Worth, Texas. She was responsible for target identification, candidate research, and industry knowledge for pharmaceutical, biotech, managed care and physician industries.

Prior to her executive search experience, Jennifer was a Human Resources Associate with H.D. Vest Finanical Services, in Irving, Texas. Her responsibilities included employee recruitment, new employee orientation and training, employee development, employee benefits and employee relations.

Jennifer received her BBA degree in Human Resource Management from the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. 

Mendy King 


Mendy King is the Assistant Director of Accounting and Data Management for MillicanSolutions, Inc. an executive search and consulting firm focused on strategic leadership initiatives for children’s hospitals nationally. Mendy is responsible for all the accounting needs of MillicanSolutions, Inc., which include the everyday tasks of accounts receivable and accounts payable. Mendy also provides data management assistance in a variety of tasks including, research, marketing, data entry, database management and other administrative tasks. 

Prior to joining MillicanSolutions, Inc., Mendy served as an executive assistant in the real estate industry.
